About Texas Vision Therapy
Symptoms and Treatments
Information Center
Dr. Justin Chelette is the founder of Texas Vision Therapy and a specialist in vision therapy and brain-based visual rehabilitation for children and adults. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) and one of the few residency-trained optometrists specializing in vision therapy and visual rehabilitation in Texas.
His interest in vision therapy began at an early age after experiencing strabismus (eye misalignment) as a child. Through his own treatment with vision therapy, Dr. Chelette saw firsthand how improving the way the eyes and brain work together can dramatically change a person’s quality of life. That experience ultimately inspired him to pursue a career helping patients overcome complex visual problems.
Dr. Chelette has been recognized nationally for his work in vision therapy and visual rehabilitation, and he continues to educate both patients and healthcare professionals about the role of the visual system in learning, neurological recovery, and daily performance.
His background includes academic teaching, hospital-based clinical care, and advanced training in euro-visual disorders.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Chelette is dedicated to educating the public and other healthcare professionals about brain-based vision care. Through speaking engagements, social media, and his podcast, he regularly discusses topics such as binocular vision dysfunction, reading difficulties, concussion recovery, and visual processing.

Your eyes may be healthy. The issue may be communication.
We identify how the brain is misprocessing visual input — not just whether the patient sees 20/20. What’s Assessed: eye tracking, convergence/divergence, binocular coordination, visual processing speed, and vestibular integration (if concussion-related)
We calm the system before we challenge it.
Reduce symptom intensity before intensive retraining for headaches, dizziness, motion sensitivity, visual overwhelm with tools such as precision lenses (if indicated), controlled visual demand, and foundational coordination work.
We retrain how your brain processes vision.
This is the core of vision therapy and it focuses on strengthening binocular coordination, improving tracking efficiency, building endurance, and increasing visual-cognitive integration so that reading becomes easier, symptoms decrease, and recovery accelerates.
We don’t stop when symptoms improve. We restore function.
Dr. Chelette transitions patients from clinical improvement to real-world performance. For example: classroom endurance, sports tracking, screen tolerance, driving confidence, cognitive stamina, etc.
